GIFT: All players entering the Scenic City Spring Open by the deadline will receive a tournament T-Shirt.

 

CHECK-IN: Building opens and check-in begins at 8:00 a.m. EST; play starts at 9:00.  Players not on time may be defaulted.  Players will have a lunch break after the first round robin (food court in mall has a variety) check with the control desk prior to leaving the building.

 

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all USATT members.  Non-members must purchase either a

USATT membership or one-time tournament pass (see entry form for prices).

 

FORMAT: Giant Round Robin.  Round robin (groups of 5 or 6) encompassing all rating levels will be followed by separate tournaments in the afternoon:  The top finisher in a round robin group will advance to Open, 2nd and 3rd place to “A” event, 4th and 5th to “B”,6th to “C”.  All players will advance from the morning initial round robins to their

respective classes for a second round robin group in their respective division, assuring each entrant of several matches throughout the day.

            A single elimination Doubles Event will be held during lunch break.  Maximum combined rating per team is 3800 to create a more competitive environment.

            All singles matches will be best of 5, 11 point games; doubles matches will be

best of 3 games to 11 points.  The tournament committee reserves the right to modify or cancel events due to insufficient entries.

 

EQUIPMENT: Only USATT approved equipment will be used.  Tables/Nets:  Butterfly,

and TSP.  Ball:  40mm Butterfly 3-star, White.  Floor:  Hardwood gym floor.  Rackets:  Must be red and black.  Clothing: Shirts and shorts may not be white, distracting, or offensive.

RULES: All USATT regulations apply.  Referee: Charlie Collins, CU, CR

 

A Food Court is in Eastgate Mall and many other restaurants are within ½ mile.  No food

is allowed in the venue.

ENTRY FEES: $45 for USATT members (includes the $5 USATT rating fee).  Non-members must purchase a USATT membership (see entry form for prices) or one-time tournament pass for $10.

            Entry forms must be postmarked by March 31, 2007 to meet the entry DEADLINE. Early entry for $5 discount is postmark of March 12, 2007 or earlier. Entries canceled by April 3, 2007 may receive a full refund.  Tournament will be limited to the first 48 entries due to size of venue.

DIRECTIONS: From I-75 take Hwy. 153 North to first exit, Lee Hwy. Turn Left onto Lee Hwy. and travel about 2 miles to Eastgate Town Center which is on the left. YMCA is the last door on the right.
